For the last decade, UFAI has worked closely with device manufacturers in the development of new technologies and led research for many new treatments for hallux rigidus and ankle arthritis.

 

We're one of a few centers in the United States certified to perform all types of ankle replacement surgery. 

  • Hallux Rigidus

    Patients can develop arthritis in the big toe joint from a single trauma or overuse and leads to limited motion, joint pain, and decreased function.

  • Ankle Arthritis

    Ankle Arthritis is a progressive disease caused by an acute trauma, something degenerative, overuse or genetics, like Rheumatoid arthritis. This leads to decreased range of motion and more cartilage breakdown.

  • Gout

    Gout is a type of arthritis that results from an accumulation of uric acid in the joints. Usually affecting the big toe, gout attacks can occur suddenly and are often very painful.
